Ann Snell has over 21 years of experience delivering cultural talks, and art programs in her own Gallery Ann Snell Gallery 2003 - 2016 representing 180 artists Australia-wide, shortly after opening her gallery, Ann specialized in Indigenous Art and culture. During her role as a curator, and gallery manager, Ann has delivered numerous educational programs, and orchestrated art events, sales, marketing, and administration, locally and internationally.
Artist
Ann embarked on her HERSTORY series in 2016, during Honours at University of Newcastle was a turning point in her career, setting the stage for her distinctive artistic voice. Snell was awarded the highest mark and received a faculty medal. Now has her own multidisciplinary art practice in Darlinghurst, Sydney.

Umeewarra Painting Project
Working with ladies of the Umeewarra Community, organized and funded a painting project in their community to visually document their story from Mission to self-determination.
Learning culture
Ann regularly visited Indigenous communities to continue her cultural knowledge for her role as an advocate for the art from 'the oldest continuing culture on earth’, 'Ann was committed to exhibiting a diverse curated collection of Indigenous art from both urban and remote dwelling artists, which became highly sought after internationally and locally.

Gallery Director
Ann's role as a gallery director with an interest in contemporary Aboriginal art had her engage and work with Indigenous communities all over Australia. Consequently, Ann became a foundation member of the Indigenous Code of Conduct and an advocate for Indigenous art and culture in Sydney.

Organised NAIDOC week workshops. Cultural awareness workshop classes to 650 students, introducing Indigenous philosophies and an Indigenous language to students creative writing, with permission of Elders. Guided students to produce a 3-meter mosaic, and an interactive mural.
Workshop Presenter – KU-Ring-Gai City Council, 2019
Program Scheduling / Event Planning: Chosen by the Ku-ring-gai City Council to present an illustration workshop, a Bush sculpture workshop responsive to the Ku-ring-gai bushland, and a children’s book reading of The Crocodile Who Found His Smile for the Gai Marigal Festival.
